Memorial Hall

Patriotic Martyr Maeheon Yun Bong-gil

The Central Hall

The Central Hall

In the Central Hall, a statue of Yun Bong-gil stands at the center, flanked by two large mural-style documentary paintings depicting the Rural Enlightenment Movement and the Patriotic Deed in Shanghai. These rare works were drawn with bamboo charcoal from Yun Bong-gil's hometown and were created to honor his unwavering love for the nation.

The mural of the Rural Enlightenment Movement portrays a night school at Buheungwon, a local revival center where people of all ages gathered to learn.

The mural depicting the Patriotic Deed in Shanghai vividly captures the tense atmosphere of April 29, 1932, the day Yun Bong-gil carried out his historic act. The statue portrays Yun Bong-gil taking an oath: his left hand holds a written pledge, while his right hand rests firmly on his chest, expressing his steadfast resolve to save his country.
